Carlow Vintage and Classic Motor Club’s annual show is a two-day fixture that opens with a procession through Carlow town before settling into a full day of static displays at Duckett’s Grove. The 2026 running is confirmed for Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August, and it draws entrants showing vehicles from the pre-war era right up to the 1980s, alongside vintage tractors and other machinery.
Saturday’s programme is the procession: entrants gather at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel and set off at 4pm on a parade route through Carlow town, giving anyone in town that evening a free look at the cars before the main event. Sunday moves to Duckett’s Grove itself, a restored 19th-century Gothic Revival estate on the edge of Carlow town, where exhibitor gates open at 9am and the public can come from 11am. The static show spans vintage and classic cars and tractors from before the Second World War through to the 1980s, with owners generally on hand at their vehicles to talk through the history and restoration work behind them. It is pitched as a family day out rather than a purely technical gathering, and the grounds at Duckett’s Grove - with their walled gardens and restored tower - make for a good setting to wander around between looking at the cars.
Duckett’s Grove is in the townland of Kneestown, a short drive from Carlow town on the road towards Tullow and Rathvilly, and is signposted locally as a Carlow County Council heritage site. Carlow town itself sits on the M9/N9 corridor around an hour south of Dublin. If you plan to catch Saturday’s procession, head into Carlow town centre in the late afternoon; for Sunday’s static show, aim to arrive after the 9am exhibitor gate to avoid the initial vehicle move-in.
