Carmen - Opera at Bord Gais Energy Theatre

Bizet’s Carmen is the world’s most performed opera - passionate, dramatic, and full of music you’ll recognise immediately. This full production at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre runs for six nights in November.

Carmen tells the story of the free-spirited Roma woman and the soldier Don Jose who falls fatally in love with her. If you’ve never been to an opera, it’s a good place to start. The venue is all-seated, with surtitles, so you can follow every word.
