At St Colman's Cathedral · Cathedral Place, Cobh, Co. Cork
From May to September each year, St Colman’s Cathedral in Cobh presents regular Sunday afternoon carillon recitals on the cathedral’s unique 49-bell instrument - the only such complete carillon in Ireland and the largest in Ireland and England by number of bells. Recitals are typically given by Cathedral Carillonneur Adrian Gebruers and occasionally by visiting guest artists. Each recital lasts about one hour. Audiences gather in the Cathedral’s Garden of Remembrance directly across from the main entrance, on Cathedral Place, or in the car park to the north of the building. A live screen inside the Cathedral allows visitors to watch the bells being played.
Cobh is served by direct rail from Cork Kent Station (journey time approximately 25 minutes). St Colman’s Cathedral is at the top of the town, clearly visible from the harbour and railway station.
