Bagenalstown Parish Annual Graveyard Masses 2026

What to Expect

The Bagenalstown Parish holds its annual graveyard masses at four locations each June. Families gather at the cemetery for Mass celebrated outdoors at 7:00pm. The four dates and locations for 2026 are as follows:

• Friday 6 June - Newtown Cemetery, 7:00pm (note: falls just before the 90-day window)

• Friday 13 June - Ballinkillen Cemetery, 7:00pm

• Friday 20 June - Bagenalstown Cemetery, 7:00pm

• Friday 27 June - Dunleckney Parish Churchyard, 7:00pm

These are community occasions to pray for those buried in each graveyard. All are welcome regardless of parish. The time has been set at 7:00pm since 2025.

• Dates: Fridays 13, 20 and 27 June 2026 (within the 90-day window from 7 June).

• Time: 7:00pm at each location.

• Free to attend; no booking required.

• Annual tradition held each June across the four cemeteries of the parish.

Getting There

Bagenalstown (also known as Muine Bheag) is approximately 20km south of Carlow town on the R448. The individual cemeteries are spread across the parish - Dunleckney Churchyard is at the southern edge of the town.
