Derek Ryan headlines JJ Killeen’s marquee in Shannonbridge on Saturday, 22 August 2026, with special guest support. The show is part of the pub’s Live in the Marquee series, a summer programme at the Shannonbridge venue that has run country and Irish concerts through a purpose-built marquee since at least 2024, when Ryan featured on the series’ inaugural weekend alongside Mike Denver.
Ryan is one of Ireland’s most established country and Irish performers, a multiple award winner who moved from a folk-influenced solo career into the country scene and has headlined marquee and festival shows across Ireland for over a decade. The Shannonbridge show follows the same marquee format JJ Killeen’s uses for its bigger summer bookings, set up beside the pub to hold a larger crowd than the bar itself could take. Expect a full band performance built around Ryan’s catalogue of chart singles and crowd singalongs, with a support slot from a guest act billed alongside him. As with the venue’s other marquee dates this series, tickets are sold in advance through the pub and by phone, with remaining capacity available at the door on the night, though earlier dates in the series have sold well ahead of time.
JJ Killeen’s is on Main Street in Shannonbridge, at the bridge crossing on the R357 between Athlone and Clonmacnoise. Parking for marquee events is arranged in and around the village; most attendees arrive by car given the limited public transport to Shannonbridge.
