Newry City AFC play their home matches in the NIFL Championship at the Showgrounds, the ground that has hosted senior football in the city on and off since the original club formed in 1918. The current organisation, set up in 2013 as a phoenix club after the old Newry City folded, won promotion back into the Championship in May 2026.
