Dowra Mart Friday Sheep Sale

What to Expect

Dowra Mart holds a sheep sale every Friday at 12 noon at the Fairgreen in Dowra, west Co. Cavan. Large entries of fat and store lambs, breeding hoggets, ewes with lamb at foot, and cull ewes are a regular feature. The mart also runs a cattle sale every Saturday at 11:30am. Dowra Mart is an important rural hub serving the Cavan Lakelands and bordering counties.

Getting There

Dowra is in west Co. Cavan near the Leitrim border, on the R200, approximately 35km west of Cavan town. The Fairgreen is in the centre of the village.
