The Chester Beatty Library holds one of the world’s most important collections of rare manuscripts, medieval religious texts, Japanese woodblock prints, Islamic art and works from across Asia, Africa and Europe. Visitors can see illuminated books, Quranic manuscripts, ancient Egyptian papyri and historic bindings that span centuries of human creativity.
Free entry to the collection. Open Tuesday to Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 11am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm (closed Mondays November to February). Located within Dublin Castle complex. Suggested donation €5. Full opening information on website.
