What to Expect

Dun Laoghaire Summerfest runs from Friday 3 to Sunday 12 July 2026, bringing over 70 acts and events to venues across Dun Laoghaire over ten summer days. One of Dublin’s most enjoyable coastal festivals, Summerfest makes the most of Dun Laoghaire’s unique character as a Victorian seaside town, using its bandstand, piers, parks, arts venues and independent bars and restaurants as stages for a varied programme of music, comedy, arts, family events and outdoor activities.

The festival’s format is deliberately accessible, with a significant portion of events free or low cost, and the mix of indoor ticketed shows and free outdoor performances means there is something worth attending at every price point throughout the ten days. The East Pier and People’s Park are the heart of the outdoor programme, while the Pavilion Theatre and DLR Lexicon provide more formal indoor venues for headline acts.

Dun Laoghaire is one of Dublin’s most attractive destinations in its own right, with the piers, the seafront, the People’s Park Sunday market, and a strong concentration of good independent restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance of everything in the town. Summerfest is an ideal reason to spend a day or more in the town rather than simply passing through.

The full programme is published closer to the festival; check the Summerfest Eventbrite page and dlrtourism.ie for updates.
