Féile Vegan 2026

At Lisnavagh House and Gardens · Lisnavagh, Co. Kildare

Féile Vegan 2026 at Lisnavagh House and Gardens

Ireland’s only vegan music festival returns to Lisnavagh House and Gardens for a long weekend of plant-based food, live music, talks and wellness workshops. Féile Vegan is built around curiosity rather than evangelism - it draws vegans, vegetarians and genuinely curious meat-eaters in roughly equal measure, and the atmosphere reflects that. If you want a festival weekend that feels purposeful without being preachy, this is a strong option. Families are welcome (children under 12 get in free), and the event is companion animal friendly, so the dog can come too.

What to expect

Gates open at 1:30pm each day, with the main programme running from 2pm to 6pm, followed by evening music for those camping or glamping on the grounds. The weekend covers a lot of ground: a marketplace of vegan food vendors and artisan producers, cooking demonstrations, inspiring talks on plant-based living, restorative wellness workshops, and live acts across the full three days. Animal charities also take part, giving attendees a chance to connect with organisations working in that space.

The setting is a major part of the draw. Lisnavagh is a 19th-century Gothic Revival house set within 800 acres of parkland, with fourteen acres of gardens including the Pleasure Grounds, the American Gardens, and sweeping rhododendron beds. Views stretch out over the Wicklow Hills, the Blackstairs Mountains and Mount Leinster. It is the kind of backdrop that makes a festival feel like more than just a day out.

Accommodation on site covers camping, glamping and cottage-style stays, making it easy to treat Friday as the start of a full weekend rather than a single-day trip.

Getting there

Lisnavagh House sits near Rathvilly on the Carlow and Wicklow border, roughly 90 minutes south of Dublin. By car, take the M9 motorway south from Dublin towards Carlow, then follow local roads towards Rathvilly - satnav to Lisnavagh, Rathvilly works reliably. Parking is available on the estate grounds. Public transport to this part of the country is limited; the nearest rail station is Carlow town (on the Dublin Heuston to Waterford line), about 20 kilometres away. A taxi or pre-arranged lift from Carlow town is the most practical option if you are not driving.

While you’re in Kildare

The drive back through the Kildare countryside is worth taking slowly, with the Curragh plains and the National Stud within easy reach for a detour on the way home. There is more to see in Kildare and across Co. Kildare.
