At Brookeborough · Boyhill Road / A4 Road, Brookeborough, Co. Fermanagh
Brookeborough hosts the County Fermanagh Grand Black Chapter’s annual demonstration on Saturday, 1 August 2026, the Royal Black Institution’s main county parade of the summer. Known locally as Black Saturday, the event brings preceptories and bands from across Fermanagh, along with visiting county officers from Monaghan and Cavan, to the village for an afternoon parade and service. It follows the Twelfth of July by three weeks as the second major set-piece parade of the Fermanagh marching season.
The parade assembles on a field off Boyhill Road at 12:30pm and marches to the demonstration field on the A4 Road, arriving for a religious service that forms the centrepiece of the afternoon. County officers and standards from Districts 1, 2 and 3, along with visiting contingents from County Monaghan and County Cavan, take part in the procession. After the service, dispersal begins at around 3:30pm, with buses routed via Killarty Road and walking parties heading back through Station Road or past the Brooke Memorial Orange Hall. Parking is arranged in fields on both sides of the A4 Road, with a dedicated accessible parking area next to the demonstration field itself, allocated on a first come first served basis.
Brookeborough sits on the A4 between Enniskillen and Fivemiletown, roughly 15km east of Enniskillen. Roads around the village are affected by the parade route for the afternoon; field parking is signposted on the day rather than on-street.
Brookeborough is a small A4 village associated with the Brooke family and the Colebrooke estate, and the demonstration is one of its biggest days of the year. There is more to see in Brookeborough and across Co. Fermanagh.
