At Grange Park · Mountjoy Road, Omagh, Co. Tyrone
Every Sunday through July and August, Grange Park in Omagh fills with live music under an open sky, all of it free. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council runs this annual outdoor music programme, known locally as the Summer Bandstand Programme, as a proper gift to the town: a couple of hours of music in a Green Flag park by the River Drumragh, with no ticket to buy and no queue to join. The next date is Sunday, 19 July 2026. It suits families with kids, couples looking for an easy afternoon out, and anyone who wants a bit of Tyrone summer without spending a penny.
Performances run from 1pm to 3:30pm each Sunday, with a different act or group on the bandstand each week. The programme draws on local and visiting musicians, and the style shifts week to week, acoustic solo sets one Sunday, a brass band the next, country covers or swing the Sunday after. The council actively recruits established and emerging artists, so the line-up rewards repeat visits rather than being the same act on rotation. Bring a blanket or a folding chair; the park has picnic facilities and flat grassy areas around the bandstand. The same programme also runs at the Round O in Enniskillen on the Fermanagh side of the council area, but Grange Park is the Tyrone date each week. Weather governs the day, so check the council’s events listings if the forecast looks uncertain.
