At Flowerfield Arts Centre · 185 Coleraine Road, Portstewart, Co. Derry
Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart runs a Meet the Illustrator workshop on Thursday 13 August 2026, giving children aged 6 to 11 a chance to work with award-winning illustrator Czacarri Muli. The session is tied directly to The Sea We Share, the exhibition running at Flowerfield through the summer, and starts with children exploring the exhibition before creating their own sea character under the illustrator’s guidance. Every child taking part receives a free signed copy of Czacarri’s illustrated book, The Sea We Share, to take home alongside their own artwork, which makes it more of a full creative experience than a standard drop-in craft session.
As of early August 2026 the session is showing as sold out on Eventbrite, so families keen to attend should check the listing regularly for any released spaces, or contact Flowerfield directly to ask about a repeat session later in the exhibition’s run.
Because The Sea We Share exhibition itself runs at Flowerfield through 29 August 2026, families who miss this particular workshop can still visit the exhibition separately during normal opening hours, even without a place on the illustrator session. The workshop’s small scale, with a single illustrator working directly with a limited number of children, is likely part of why it filled up quickly compared to the centre’s larger drop-in craft sessions.
Flowerfield Arts Centre is on Coleraine Road on the edge of Portstewart, with its own car park on site.
