The Furnace Festival celebrates Banagher’s unique heritage of iron smelting and traditional crafts. The Shannon Iron Smelters, trained in traditional bloomery techniques, will demonstrate iron smelting using local bog iron ore. Blacksmiths will also showcase their craft. The festival brings together the local community to celebrate cultural heritage while supporting the work of the Irish Iron Heritage Foundation.
