What to Expect

Hinterland is a four-day festival of literature, ideas and the arts held in Kells, Co. Meath, now in its 14th year. The 2026 programme features more than 70 events including author interviews, history talks, live performances, creative workshops and family events. Highlights include award-winning broadcaster Kirsty Wark in conversation, events at the newly opened Kells Printing Works, and the annual TypeTrail walking exhibition - a typography and calligraphy art trail through the town launched on 26 June under the theme ‘Process’.
