What to Expect

The Kings of the Kilburn High Road is an acclaimed drama by Irish playwright Jimmy Murphy, presented by the newly formed Pure Mule Productions, based in Carrick-on-Shannon. The play is set in London in the mid-1990s and follows a group of men from the west of Ireland who emigrated in the 1970s hoping to make their fortunes. Twenty-five years later, one of the group - Jackie Flavin - makes it home, but in a coffin. The day of his funeral brings old friends together to drink to his memory and reckon with their lives, lost dreams and changed Ireland.
