LAST CALL - The Original Musical

At Mermaid Arts Centre · Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow

LAST CALL - The Original Musical performance poster

LAST CALL is an original musical written and performed by Dance Greystones, a local performing arts group from Co. Wicklow. It tells a powerful, personal story of ambition, pressure, and recovery - centred on a young dancer chasing elite-level success and the cost that pursuit can carry. Written by someone in recovery, it brings honesty to the stage that is rare in community theatre. If you appreciate performances that are genuinely rooted in lived experience, and you enjoy seeing local talent take on ambitious material, this is worth an evening of your time. Suitable for ages 12 and over.

What to expect

The production weaves contemporary, jazz, and commercial dance with an original score and theatrical storytelling to trace the highs, setbacks, and slow work of rebuilding. It runs to around two hours fifteen minutes including an interval - enough time to properly follow the arc of the story. The venue is the Mermaid Arts Centre on Main Street, Bray, a 242-seat intimate auditorium that opened in 2002 and serves as the main cultural hub for north Wicklow. The stage-to-seat ratio is close enough that the dancing reads clearly from every part of the house. The production carries a content advisory: strobe lighting is used during the show.

Getting there

Bray is one of the easiest coastal towns to reach from Dublin. The DART runs directly to Bray station from Connolly, Tara Street, and Pearse in under 40 minutes, with services running throughout the evening. The Mermaid is a short walk from the station along Main Street. By road, Bray is off the N11/M11 south of Dublin, roughly 20 km from the city centre. Street parking and a pay-and-display car park are available close to the venue. The box office can be reached at 01 272 4030 for any accessibility or wheelchair seating requirements.

While you’re in Bray

Bray seafront, the cliff walk to Greystones, and the town’s handful of good pubs and restaurants all make it easy to build an evening or a half-day around the show. There is more to see in Bray and across Co. Wicklow.
