At Limavady Town Centre · Limavady, Co. Londonderry
Limavady’s summer artisan fair brings local makers, small producers, and food growers together in the town centre for a single day of handmade goods and good company. It is a free, relaxed outing - suited to anyone who enjoys finding something original rather than mass-produced, whether that is a piece of ceramic ware, a jar of preserve, a length of handwoven textile, or a loaf baked that morning. Families are welcome, and the pace is unhurried.
The fair gathers artisans and craftspeople selling directly from their stalls - pottery, jewellery, textiles, art prints, and handmade homewares sit alongside local food producers offering seasonal preserves, baked goods, and regional specialities. Limavady has a tradition of outdoor markets in the town centre, centred around the pedestrianised main street and the public square beside the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre. This setting makes it easy to browse at leisure, duck into a nearby cafe, and come back for a second look. Expect a mix of established local makers and newer names trying out the market circuit for the first time - that mix is often where the best finds come from. Bring cash as well as a card; not every stall will have a card reader.
Limavady sits on the A2, roughly 18 miles east of Derry city and 20 miles west of Coleraine - easy to reach by car from either direction. The A37 connects the town south toward Dungiven and the Sperrins. Street parking is available in the town centre and there are surface car parks a short walk from the main street. By public transport, Goldline and Ulsterbus services run between Derry and Limavady on a regular basis; journey time from Derry is around 30 minutes. The Roe Valley Country Park is a five-minute drive from the town centre - a long linear park following the river gorge, with walking trails, the remains of historic linen mills, and stretches of river popular with anglers. Limavady itself has a quiet musical claim to fame: it was here in the 19th century that Jane Ross transcribed the melody now known as the Londonderry Air. The coast at Benone Strand and the Magilligan peninsula are around 20 minutes north by car. There is more to see in Limavady and across Co. Derry.
