Emer Maguire brings her new stand-up hour, Perfectly Chaotic, to Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre in Limavady as part of the NI Comedy series. Maguire has built a reputation on powerful storytelling and lightning-fast wit, and has previously sold out major venues including Belfast’s Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall, so this Limavady date is a chance to catch her on a smaller, more intimate stage.
The show explores “the beautiful mess of modern life - from questionable decisions to personal revelations”, according to the venue’s own description, with hilariously irreverent musical interludes woven through the stand-up. Maguire has recently been commissioned by Channel 4 for the sitcom Socially Awkward, so this is a comedian on the way up rather than a nostalgia booking, and the two and a half hour running time (including doors from 7:30pm) points to a full evening rather than a short support slot. As of this listing the show is showing as sold out on Eventbrite, so anyone hoping to attend should watch for returns or a possible second date being added given the demand.
Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre is on Limavady’s Main Street, in the town centre and within easy walking distance of local car parks and bus stops.
