Edgeworthstown Library sets aside two hours most Saturdays for children to bring their Pokemon and football card collections and trade with each other, no registration needed. It runs as a drop-in session in the library’s events room rather than a formal club, so numbers and ages vary from week to week. The library has run the swap on consecutive Saturdays through August 2026, alongside its wider summer programme of Zumba classes, movie afternoons and craft workshops for children.
There is no set format beyond the swap itself: children bring what they have, spread cards out on the tables in the events room, and trade or compare collections for the length of the session, which runs from 12pm to 2pm. It suits collectors of any level, from a handful of loose cards to a full binder, and parents are welcome to stay or drop children off if they are old enough to be left. Because it is a drop-in event rather than a booked workshop, there is no place that has to be reserved in advance and no charge on the door. Confirmed dates so far are 8, 15 and 22 August 2026. It is a low-key alternative to the library’s more structured children’s events, useful for a wet Saturday afternoon or as something to do before or after a trip into the town centre.
