At The Moat Theatre · The Moat Theatre, Naas, Co. Kildare
If you grew up with Frankie Valli on the radio, or came to the songs through the award-winning stage musical, this is a night that rewards coming out for. Made In Jersey is a dedicated tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, bringing the full sound of “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and the rest to the intimate setting of the Moat Theatre in Naas. The show draws on material from the Jersey Boys musical as well as the wider Four Seasons catalogue, so expect the story as much as the songs - the harmonies, the arrangements, the energy of a doo-wop set done properly. It suits anyone who loves 1950s and 1960s pop, fans of the original Broadway show, or just a good night out at a proper theatre.
Made In Jersey recreate the vocal harmonies of The Four Seasons through close attention to the arrangements that made the band famous. These are not loose covers - the group commit to getting the falsetto leads and the tight four-part blend right, which is what separates a good tribute from a forgettable one. The set covers the doo-wop and early rock and roll era hits alongside the later pop crossovers, running roughly two and a half hours in total. The Moat Theatre’s 200-seat auditorium means there is no bad seat in the house - it is an enclosed space where the sound carries well and you are close enough to the stage to feel the performance rather than just watch it. There is a bar and café in the foyer if you want to arrive a little early and settle in.
