At TF Royal Hotel & Theatre · Old Westport Road, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, F23 R288
Rory’s Stories plays TF Royal in Castlebar on Friday 6 November 2026 with a new show called The Good Ol’ Days, doors 8pm for a 9pm start. The show trades on nostalgia, taking the audience back to what the venue calls “simpler times” before social media took over, with material built around teenage discos, village characters and how everyday social norms have shifted since. Expect the mix of personal grooming trends, coffee culture and outdoor activities set against the weight of adult responsibilities that has become his trademark, all pitched as “stories, madness and good craic” rather than a scripted set. It’s an observational hour rather than a topical one, aimed squarely at an audience who’ll recognise the village characters and small-town rituals he’s describing. Seating is unreserved and the show is restricted to over-16s, so it’s worth getting to the venue in good time to pick a spot.
TF Royal sits on the Old Westport Road on the edge of Castlebar, with on-site parking and a multi-storey car park nearby. Castlebar is on the N5, roughly two and a half hours from Dublin, and is served by Bus Eireann routes from Dublin, Galway, Westport and Ballina.
Castlebar’s town centre has a good spread of pubs and restaurants for a pre-show meal, and it’s a handy base for exploring more of the county over a weekend, with November falling in the venue’s busiest run of autumn comedy and music dates. Find more to do in Castlebar and across Co. Mayo.
