Meath Libraries Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2026

What to Expect

Summer Stars is the free national children’s reading programme run in all 15 branches of Meath County Libraries from 2 June to 31 August 2026. Children are invited to read books (physical or ebooks) over the summer and collect rewards along the way. The programme is non-competitive - every child who reads even one book is celebrated as having completed the adventure. Libraries also run special events, live storytimes, quizzes, and reading challenges throughout the summer.

Good to Know

• Runs 2 June to 31 August 2026 at all Meath library branches including Navan, Kells, Trim, Ashbourne, Dunshaughlin, and others.

• Completely free to join; children register at their local library.

• Open to pre-school and primary school children.

• Companion Homework Pass Reading Reward initiative also available for schools.
