Meath Made Creates Festival 2026

Meath Made Creates is a weekend festival celebrating the county’s makers, craftspeople and designers, held at the Swift Cultural Centre in Trim. The second edition runs Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026, building on a first year that the organisers and Meath County Council both called a major success. It is aimed squarely at showing off the breadth of craft and design talent working across Co. Meath, from textiles and ceramics to woodwork and natural materials.

What to Expect

The core of the weekend is a craft fair with stalls from local makers, running alongside live demonstrations where visitors can watch pieces being made rather than just browse finished work. Expect natural craft techniques among the demonstrations, plus live music and refreshments through both days to keep the atmosphere sociable rather than strictly retail. Bookable workshops run in parallel with the free fair, giving visitors a hands-on go at some of the same crafts on display, with places going through the Swift Cultural Centre’s own booking system. The festival is run under the Meath Made banner, a network set up to give the county’s craft and design scene a shared platform, and the 2026 dates follow directly on from a first edition that both the makers involved and Meath County Council described as a strong debut.

Getting There

The Swift Cultural Centre sits on Trim’s High Street in the town centre, a short walk from Trim Castle and the main car parks. Trim is about 45km from Dublin via the M3 and R154, with regular Bus Éireann services running into the town. Anyone making a day of it can easily combine the festival with a visit to Trim Castle itself, Ireland’s largest Anglo-Norman castle, which sits directly on the River Boyne a few minutes’ walk from the centre.
