Trim Castle is Ireland’s largest Anglo-Norman castle and a popular family destination in Co. Meath. OPW staff lead guided tours of the Keep approximately every hour during peak season. The castle grounds surrounding the Keep are free to enter at any time, giving families space to explore the exterior and enjoy the riverside setting. Medieval reenactments and seasonal heritage events also take place on the grounds.
Guided Keep tours run approximately every hour during summer; last admission 4pm.
Arrive before 11am in summer to avoid queues and reduce the risk of tours selling out.
Keep tour prices: Adult EUR 5, Child/Student EUR 3, Family EUR 13. Grounds are free.
The site is very busy in summer - access cannot always be guaranteed.
Trim Castle is on Castle Street in Trim town centre, well signposted from the N3 and M3. Car parking is available in the town. Trim is approximately 45km from Dublin.
