The first Friday of July brings a country music night to the TF Royal in Castlebar - one of the west of Ireland’s best-loved live entertainment venues. Castlebar is the county town of Mayo and is well connected by road. From Dublin, take the M6/N17 westward - the drive is roughly two and a half hours. From Galway, the N17 north gets you there in under an hour. From Sligo, head south on the N17/N26 for about 45 minutes.
Bus Eireann runs regular services into Castlebar from Dublin, Galway, and Westport. The town’s bus station is a short walk or taxi ride from the venue. If you are driving, the TF Royal is on the Old Westport Road, directly opposite Castlebar General Hospital, and parking is available in the surrounding area.
Castlebar has a good range of pubs and restaurants along its wide main street, and the town centre is a manageable walk from the venue - worth exploring before the show.
