At Cedral St Conleth's Park · Newbridge, Co. Kildare
Moorefield are one of the most decorated club football teams in Kildare, and their run in the 2026 Joe Mallon Motors Senior Football Championship is well worth following. Founded in a townland on the southern edge of Newbridge, the club has been competing at senior level for decades and has contested a remarkable number of county finals since 2000 alone. If you want to watch serious club football in a county that takes the game seriously, a Moorefield championship match is a good place to start.
Moorefield are drawn in Group D of the 2026 championship, alongside Naas, Clogherinkoe, and Eadestown. The group runs a round-robin format, with three matches per team from late August through mid-September. Group stage games tend to be direct and competitive - clubs know every point matters for a knockout berth, so the football is rarely flat. Moorefield have won the Kildare Senior Football Championship multiple times and claimed Leinster club titles in 2006 and 2017, so they carry genuine pedigree into each match.
