At Esker Arts · High Street, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, R35 NY50
Two of Ireland’s leading traditional singers, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and Pauline Scanlon, play Esker Arts in Tullamore on Thursday, 24 September 2026, backed by Tom Morrow on fiddle and viola and guitarist John Doyle. The date is one stop on a national tour marking Music Network’s 40th anniversary, with Tullamore sandwiched between concerts in Limerick the night before and Waterford the night after.
Music Network describes the pairing as “two of Ireland’s most striking interpreters of traditional and contemporary song,” and the programme blends close vocal harmony with instrumental sets from Morrow and Doyle, described as songs and tunes that “celebrate the beauty, depth and spirit of Irish music” through “new interpretations with time-honoured tradition.” Nic Amhlaoibh is best known for her work with Danú, while Scanlon has an established solo and collaborative career in Irish song; together with Morrow and Doyle they perform as a full quartet rather than a support-and-headliner bill. The tour runs to thirteen dates across Ireland and Britain between mid-September and early October 2026, taking in venues from Sligo to London, with Esker Arts as the Offaly stop roughly midway through the run.
Esker Arts is on High Street in Tullamore town centre, within walking distance of the bus and rail station. The venue has its own on-site parking as well as access to nearby town centre car parks.
Tullamore is Offaly’s county town and home to Tullamore D.E.W. whiskey, distilled since 1829 on Bury Quay a short walk from High Street. There is more to see in Tullamore and across Co. Offaly.
