The Odd Theatre Company brings the classic musical My Fair Lady to the Moat Theatre in Naas for three performances, Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 September 2026, each starting at 7:30pm. The Lerner and Loewe musical, based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, follows phonetics professor Henry Higgins as he attempts to pass Cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle off as a duchess, and remains one of the most frequently staged musicals by amateur companies in Ireland.
The Odd Theatre Company is a local Naas-based amateur group staging the full musical with a cast, chorus and band drawn from the area, in the Moat Theatre’s 200-seat auditorium. Expect the standard structure of a community musical theatre production: live singing, choreographed ensemble numbers, and the well-known songs from the show, including “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” and “I Could Have Danced All Night”, performed by local singers rather than a professional touring cast. Three consecutive nights is a substantial run for a community company, reflecting the scale of putting on a full musical with sets, costumes and a live or backing band, and ticket demand for amateur musicals at the Moat has tended to be strong enough to fill a multi-night run rather than a single performance.
