National Heritage Week 2026 runs from Saturday 15 August to Sunday 23 August with the theme “Heritage at Risk.” County Cork consistently delivers over 150 events at more than 50 locations, making it one of the most active counties in the national programme. Events are organised by community groups, voluntary organisations, and local heritage societies and are almost entirely free.
Confirmed Cork events include: Cork Public Museum open day at Fitzgeralds Park (Sunday 23 August, 11am-4pm), Cork City Libraries heritage programme at the Grand Parade library (Sunday 23 August, 12:30-1:30pm), Cork LGBT Archive Open Day (Sunday 16 August, 2-5pm at Crawford Business Park), and Cork City Council heritage events across the city on Sunday 16 August.
