What to Expect

Navan Centre and Fort marks the ancient Celtic harvest festival of Lughnasa with a weekend of community and heritage events from 4 to 6 August 2026. The programme opens with an evening of storytelling and music - “Tales of the Past” - followed by a family-oriented afternoon of “Games of the Past” and concludes with a Fused Glass Ogham Experience workshop on the Sunday. The site also runs daily “Meet the Warriors” living history experiences throughout summer.

Navan Centre and Fort (Emain Macha) is the most important archaeological site in Ulster, with over 7,000 years of history. It is the No. 1 visitor attraction in Armagh on TripAdvisor.

Getting There

Navan Centre and Fort is on the Killylea Road, approximately 2 miles west of Armagh city centre. There is free parking on site. Bus services to Armagh city are available from main towns in the county.
