One Book One Community - Birr

What to Expect

One Book One Community is a collaborative community-wide initiative designed to encourage reading in the home and foster a lifelong love of books among children and families across Birr. The selected book is Leona Forde’s “Milly McCarthy is a Complete Catastrophe”. Over the summer months, libraries will host activities centred around the book. A full celebration week with scavenger hunts, cookery demonstrations, craft sessions and much more takes place from 19-26 September 2026.
