At TF Royal Hotel & Theatre · Old Westport Road, Castlebar, Co. Mayo
Padraig Jack, a bilingual singer-songwriter from the Aran Islands, plays TF Royal in Castlebar on Friday 9 October 2026, blending what he describes as “Celtic Folk & Contemporary” music with lyrics performed in both Irish Gaelic and English. Hot Press has called him “one of Ireland’s best emerging songwriters,” and he has been nominated for Best Original Song at the RTÉ Folk Awards. His original compositions draw on life on the west coast of Ireland, shaped by influences ranging from traditional Irish artists through to international songwriters, and performances move between solo and full-band arrangements depending on the material. This is a smaller, more intimate booking than some of TF Royal’s bigger tribute nights - a genuine songwriter’s show rather than a tribute production - and it suits an audience there for original Irish-language and English material rather than a covers-heavy set. Doors open at 8pm ahead of a 9pm start, with unreserved seating throughout. It is a later, smaller-room slot than most TF Royal bookings that night, with country act Marty Mone playing an earlier show elsewhere in the same complex - two very different Irish acts sharing the venue on the same evening.
TF Royal is on the Old Westport Road on the edge of Castlebar, with on-site parking and a multi-storey car park nearby. Castlebar sits on the N5, roughly two and a half hours from Dublin and an hour from Galway, and is served by Bus Eireann from Dublin, Galway, Westport and Ballina.
Castlebar’s town centre has plenty of options for food before a late show, and the Green Room Bar & Restaurant on site at TF Royal covers you if you’d rather stay put. There is more to see in Castlebar and across Co. Mayo.
