What to Expect

Young Conservationists sessions run at Portadown People’s Park and Lurgan Park during the Get Active ABC summer programme in July and August 2026. Children aged 6 to 10 take part in pond dipping, bug hunting, guided nature walks, and arts and crafts activities tied to the natural environment of the park.

Sessions are run by the council’s parks and leisure team and are designed to build children’s connection with the outdoors and local wildlife. Online booking is essential and sessions fill up quickly. Each session costs GBP 2 per child.

Getting There
