At Russborough House · Blessington, Co. Wicklow
The Saw Doctors closing a festival at one of Ireland’s finest Palladian country houses is a combination that lands perfectly. Kaleidoscope presented by Glenveagh returns to Russborough House for its sixth year in July 2026, and the Galway legends have been chosen to bring down the curtain on Sunday - the feel-good close to a three-day run that has already seen Natasha Bedingfield on Friday and Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics on Saturday. If you have ever sung along to “I Useta Lover” or “To Win Just Once” in a field full of strangers, you already know what this afternoon is going to feel like.
The Saw Doctors have been one of the most reliably entertaining live acts in Ireland for close to four decades, and a Sunday-afternoon slot at an outdoor festival suits them down to the ground. Expect the singalong hits delivered at full volume, a crowd that spans teenagers who came with their parents and forty-somethings who grew up on the records, and a warm, unhurried set that makes the most of the Russborough parklands as a backdrop.
Beyond the headline set, the festival runs family activities, interactive experiences and creative workshops across the grounds throughout the day - so if you are bringing children or want to arrive early, there is plenty to fill the hours before the main stage fires up. Russborough House itself is a working heritage estate with 200 acres of parkland, a maze, a children’s playground and views out to the Blessington Lakes and the Wicklow Mountains.
Russborough House sits just outside Blessington town on the N81, roughly 35 kilometres south of Dublin city centre - about 40 minutes by car in normal traffic. From Dublin, take the N81 through Tallaght and Brittas; the estate is well signposted from the Blessington approach. There is on-site parking at Russborough. If you are coming by bus, Dublin Bus route 65 runs from Dublin city to Blessington; from there it is a short taxi or arranged lift to the house. Festival shuttle information, if offered, is usually confirmed closer to the date on the Kaleidoscope website.
Blessington is a tidy market town on the western shore of the Poulaphouca Reservoir, and the lakeside is worth a look before or after the festival. There is more to see in Blessington and across Co. Wicklow.
