What to Expect

The 2026 Sligo Senior Hurling Championship is a four-club round robin between Easkey Sea Blues, Western Gaels, Naomh Eoin and Coolera/Strandhill. Round 1 throws in on Wednesday 26 August at 8:00pm, when Easkey Sea Blues face Western Gaels, followed by Naomh Eoin against Coolera/Strandhill on Friday 28 August at 7:00pm. Round 2 pairs Coolera/Strandhill against Western Gaels and Easkey Sea Blues against Naomh Eoin on 26 September, with Round 3 (Coolera/Strandhill v Easkey Sea Blues, and Western Gaels v Naomh Eoin) completing the group on 3 October. As it stands only four clubs field senior hurling teams in the county, so every round-robin result feeds directly into the destination of the title; venues for the later rounds had not been confirmed as of research date. This is club-grade championship hurling rather than an inter-county fixture, so admission is typically free or by voluntary gate collection and crowds are made up largely of club members, families and GAA regulars from the four hurling parishes.
