At Project Padel Mayo · Bunree Road, Ballina, Co. Mayo
The Gym Ballina turns Project Padel Mayo into a one-day fitness arena for the Mayo Fit Games, a functional fitness competition running again on Saturday 15 August 2026. Under the tagline “Stronger Together,” it is built to suit a wide range of ability, from gym regulars chasing a leaderboard spot to first-timers there mostly for the atmosphere.
Competitors take on more than ten fitness challenges through the day, a mix of strength, conditioning and skill workouts typical of a CrossFit-style competition. Entry categories cover male and female singles, mixed or same-sex teams of four, and a newly added Junior Mayo Fit Games for younger competitors. A live DJ runs through the day, there are cash prizes and trophies for the top finishers in each category, and the venue is set up to be spectator-friendly, so it is as much a morning out for supporters as it is a competition for entrants. Food and refreshments are available on site throughout. Organisers have flagged limited places, so this is not a turn-up-on-the-day event.
Project Padel Mayo is on the Bunree Road on the edge of Ballina town, close to the River Moy. It is an easy walk from Ballina town centre for anyone staying locally, and free parking is provided on site for anyone driving. Ballina is on the Western Rail Corridor with services connecting to Dublin, Galway and Westport, and Bus Eireann serves the town from across Connacht.
