Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote comes to Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, an interactive comedy night built around a screening of the classic Murder, She Wrote episode “A Fashionable Way to Die,” in which Jessica Fletcher investigates a killing at a Paris fashion show. The show is hosted live by self-described superfan Tim Benzie, who guides the audience through solving the case alongside the episode as it plays.
Rather than a straight screening, the format mixes the TV episode with live games and audience participation: crime-solving races using the show’s own “Fameometer” and “Suspiciometer,” a Cabot Cove trivia quiz, a themed singalong and guest star profiles worked in around the plot. It runs about two hours including an interval. The show has toured extensively through the UK, Ireland, the USA and Australia, including runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 2023 to 2025 and Adelaide Fringe in 2025, and has picked up a five-star review from Broadway World along the way, with one reviewer writing they “elbowed my way through” the crowd for a repeat viewing. It suits fans of the original series and newcomers alike, since the plot and characters are explained as it goes.
