Realta in Concert - Market Place Theatre, Armagh

At Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre · Market Street, Armagh, Co. Armagh BT61 7BW

Traditional Irish music group performing at Market Place Theatre Armagh

What to Expect

Realta bring their traditional Irish music to Market Place Theatre’s main auditorium on Thursday 10 September 2026, with a programme built around long-established tunes played for a modern concert audience. The group’s set draws on the wider trad repertoire - reels, jigs, airs and songs - presented as a seated concert rather than a session, which suits the theatre’s format well. It shares the evening’s bill in the wider building with Robert Mizzell’s Nashville Songbook, which plays the same night in a different part of the venue.

The show is part of Market Place Theatre’s broader September concert programme, which mixes traditional and contemporary Irish acts with tribute shows and country music nights. For anyone who prefers trad music played with theatre-quality sound and seating rather than a crowded pub session, this is the more comfortable option.

While You’re in Armagh

Armagh’s compact city centre makes it easy to build a full evening around a show. Two cathedrals, both named St Patrick’s, sit on facing hilltops in the city, and the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium is a short walk from Market Street. A number of pubs and restaurants around the Shambles and English Street are within easy reach for dinner before the concert.
