At Ballymore Eustace Art Studio · Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare
If your child lights up around paint, pencils or anything they can make a mess with, the Ballymore Eustace Art Studio summer camp is worth clearing the diary for. Run by local artist Fiona Doyle Barrett from her studio at Lime Kiln House, these three-day camps give children real time with real materials in a working creative space - not a hall with craft kits, but an actual studio. There are two age groups running at separate times through July 2026: a camp for younger children aged 4 to 8, and a second for young artists aged 8 and up. Both follow the same idea: try different mediums, build confidence, make things.
Each camp runs over three days and works across a range of art projects and materials. The focus is on creative exploration rather than producing one polished end result - children are encouraged to experiment, try techniques they haven’t tried before, and develop their own way of working. The studio keeps groups small, which means children get proper time and attention rather than being lost in a crowd.
The younger camp (ages 4-8) runs 11am to 2pm each day. Specific times for the 8+ camp are to be confirmed - contact the studio directly for the schedule. Fiona Barrett, who also runs paint parties and term-time classes from the same studio, brings genuine teaching experience to the summer programme. Booking is required; prices are to be confirmed at time of booking.
