What to Expect

The River Barrow at Milford, just outside Carlow Town, is a popular open water swimming location used by local clubs and triathletes during the summer months. Carlow Swimming Club and associated triathlon groups organise supervised group swims on weekend mornings throughout July and August. The flat, calm stretches of the Barrow are suitable for competent open water swimmers.

Getting There

The Milford access point to the River Barrow is on the R448 north of Carlow Town. Car parking is available along the river bank.
