Carlow Lawn Tennis Club’s annual open tournament brings a week of competitive tennis to one of Leinster’s most well-equipped clubs. Running from 12 to 19 July 2026, it is open to all registered Tennis Ireland members, making it a genuine county-open event rather than a closed club affair. If you play regularly and fancy testing yourself against players from across the region, this is a solid summer fixture - structured competition on proper club courts, without the pressure of a national-level event.
The tournament typically runs singles and doubles across men’s, women’s and mixed categories, covering a range of standards so it is not exclusively for elite players. Matches are played on the club’s eight all-weather courts, which keep the schedule moving regardless of the Irish summer weather. The club sits on over two acres of grounds and also has squash and badminton courts on site, giving the whole facility a proper sports-club feel rather than a couple of cracked tarmac courts behind a car park.

Carlow town is about an hour from Dublin on the Irish Rail Waterford line, with trains running from Heuston Station several times a day. By car, Carlow is on the N80 and M9 corridor, roughly 85km from Dublin. Street parking is available in the town, and the club itself is likely to have on-site parking - confirm when you check in about your match time.
