At Cyprus Avenue · Caroline Street, Cork City, Co. Cork
If you have hit your thirties and still want a proper night out dancing - just one that wraps up before midnight - Club 30 was built for exactly that. Organised by Popscene Cork and held at one of the city’s best live music venues, this monthly evening club night strips away the late-night grind and gives over-30s four solid hours of music, a full bar, and a dancefloor worth using. It suits people who want to let loose without the 2am taxi scramble: parents with babysitters on the clock, people who are simply done with staying out past ten, and anyone who finds that a 6pm start is actually the most civilised idea in nightlife.
Club 30 runs from 6pm to 10pm in Cyprus Avenue on Caroline Street - a 500-capacity venue that has hosted the likes of Hozier, Fontaines D.C., and Mick Flannery and is well regarded for its sound and atmosphere. The main floor carries DJs spinning 80s, 90s, 00s and current hits, while the Wavelength rooftop bar runs its own DJ set of party favourites upstairs. The event was co-founded by DJ Rowan Meegan specifically to give older clubgoers a proper space to dance and catch up with friends without feeling out of place. It runs monthly through the summer; August 1st is the third date in the 2026 series. Entry is strictly over-30s and photo ID is required on the door.
Cork City is well connected by road from Dublin (approx. 2.5 hours on the M8), Limerick (1 hour on the M20), and Waterford (1.5 hours). By rail, Cork Kent Station is served by Irish Rail from Dublin Heuston and other main cities; the station is about a 15-minute walk from Caroline Street, or a short taxi. Bus Eireann long-distance coaches and city buses both serve the city centre. Caroline Street itself sits just off MacCurtain Street on the north bank of the Lee, a 10-minute walk from Patrick Street and well within the city core. Parking is available in multi-storey car parks nearby on Lavitt’s Quay and the North Main Street area; city-centre on-street parking is limited on Saturday evenings.
Cork City rewards a full day out before the evening kicks off - the English Market is a short walk from the venue, and the North Cathedral and Shandon Bells are close by on the north side. There is more to see in Cork and across Co. Cork.
