Colin Murphy At The Hill Comedy Club

At The Hill Inn · The Hill Inn, Cahir, Co. Tipperary

Colin Murphy performs at The Hill Comedy Club

Colin Murphy is one of the most recognisable faces in Irish comedy - a Belfast-based stand-up, TV presenter, and writer who has been a regular fixture on screens north and south for over two decades. He brings that familiar, sharp wit to The Hill Comedy Club in Cahir on Saturday 27 June 2026, headlining a monthly night that has quietly become one of the best reasons to spend a Saturday evening in Tipperary. If you enjoy comedy that feels live and real, with a room that actually reacts, this is worth the trip.

What to expect

The Hill Comedy Club runs out of The Hill Inn in the centre of Cahir, hosted and organised by local comedian Tom O’Mahony. It is a monthly resident show that has built a loyal following by bringing proven touring acts - Irish and international - to a proper pub setting rather than a large anonymous venue. Murphy’s credits include The Blizzard of Odd, The Blame Game on BBC Northern Ireland, and The Panel on RTE, plus appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival, and the Cat Laughs in Kilkenny. He is comfortable on any stage, and small rooms suit him well. Doors open at 8:30pm; the show format is typical of Irish club comedy nights - expect a support slot or warm-up from the MC before the headliner closes out the evening.

Getting there

Cahir sits on the M8 motorway corridor between Dublin and Cork, roughly two hours south of Dublin and under an hour from Limerick city. Coming by train, the nearest station is Cahir on the Limerick Junction to Waterford line, which puts you close to the town centre on foot. Buses on the Dublin to Cork Expressway route also stop in Cahir. The Hill Inn is in the village centre, and parking is available in the town - Castle Street and the main square both have space on a Saturday evening.

While you’re in Cahir

Cahir is worth arriving early for - the castle above the River Suir is one of the best-preserved medieval strongholds in Ireland, and the Swiss Cottage a short drive south is an unusual National Monument. There is more to see in Cahir and across Co. Tipperary.
