At Carlow Golf Club · Deerpark, Dublin Road, Carlow, Co. Carlow, R93 HX46
The County Carlow Golf Classic returns from Wednesday 7 to Wednesday 9 September 2026, a three-day, three-course package organised by Carlow Tourism that draws golfers from across Ireland and the UK. Entrants play a round each at Carlow Golf Club, Mount Wolseley and Bunclody Golf and Fishing Club, with the event built as much around hospitality and camaraderie as competitive golf.
The €240 entry covers three rounds of golf across the three courses, lunch on each of the three days, and a gala dinner with entertainment on the closing night at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel. A prize fund of €7,000 is on offer, split across overall, ladies’, daily and mixed prizes, so the competitive side of the event is taken seriously even as the social programme runs alongside it. Carlow Tourism, which organises the classic, has arranged special accommodation rates for participants at several hotels in and around Carlow town, including Mount Wolseley itself, Seven Oaks Hotel, The Talbot Hotel and the Woodford Dolmen. Booking is handled online through Carlow Tourism’s ticketing platform, with early booking advised given the fixed field size across three courses.
Carlow Golf Club, the event’s home course, is at Deerpark on the Dublin Road (N9) on the edge of Carlow town. Mount Wolseley is near Tullow, about 13km away, and Bunclody Golf and Fishing Club is just over the county border in Co. Wexford; all three are within a short drive of each other and of Carlow town, where most participants base themselves for the three days.
Carlow town has a good choice of restaurants and bars for the evenings between rounds, and the gala dinner itself is held at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel in the town. There is more to see in Carlow and across Co. Carlow.
