William Thompson: Touch Grass - The Court House, Bangor

At The Court House · 16 Quay Street, Bangor, Co. Down

Comedian performing dark humour set at The Court House Bangor

What to Expect

Comedian William Thompson brings his stand-up show Touch Grass to The Court House in Bangor, originally booked for Friday 9 October 2026 and now, following strong demand, followed by a second date on Friday 13 November 2026. The show examines social media’s real-world impact through dark, punchy humour, looking at “the murky world of social media” and asking whether online personas such as trolls and extremists exist only online or manifest offline too. Both nights are theatre-seated in the Court House’s Court Room and restricted to over-18s.

Getting There

The Court House stands on the seafront at Quay Street in Bangor, a short walk from Bangor railway station on the Belfast to Bangor Translink line. The venue is a restored Victorian listed courthouse run as a non-profit arts space by the charity behind Bangor’s Open House Festival, with pay-and-display parking available along the nearby harbour front.

While You’re in Bangor

With both Bangor dates on a waiting list, anyone keen to see Touch Grass locally should also check the separate date at Portico of Ards in Portaferry on 17 October 2026, the same touring show at a different Co. Down venue. If a Bangor place does come up, the venue’s seafront setting makes it easy to combine with a walk along the marina beforehand. There is more to see and do in Bangor and across Co. Down.
