The Felix Darby Cup is a Down GAA club football knockout competition, and its 2026 quarter-finals are all played on the same evening, Saturday 8 August, at four different grounds across the county. The featured tie is Rostrevor against Drumgath at Rostrevor’s own pitch, with three more quarter-finals kicking off at the same time elsewhere.
All four quarter-finals throw in at 5:00pm on 8 August: Rostrevor host Drumgath, Cumann Pheadair Naofa host Bredagh at Warrenpoint, Liatroim host St Mochai’s GAC Darragh Cross at Liatroim, and Teconnaught host Bryansford at Teconnaught. As a straight knockout cup rather than a league or championship group, each tie is single elimination, so the losing sides are out for the year in this competition while the winners move on to a semi-final later in August. The cup sits alongside the county’s main football championships as a secondary trophy for clubs, and it tends to draw a smaller, more local crowd than the senior championship but with the same knockout intensity. Expect a competitive, high-stakes club occasion with home support out in force at each of the four venues.
Rostrevor sits on the shore of Carlingford Lough at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, reached via the A2 coast road from Newry or Kilkeel. The GAA grounds are on the edge of the village with parking available on match days.
