Earthfall: Undercurrent

Earthfall brings Undercurrent to Roscommon Arts Centre on Thursday, 10 September 2026 at 8pm, a touring dance theatre and circus production featuring an intergenerational cast of Irish and international performers. Tickets are €15, or €12 concession, for a show built more around physical storytelling than conventional dialogue.

What to expect

Undercurrent fuses dance theatre, circus and cultural dance drawn from Zimbabwe, Brazil and Ireland into what the company describes as a gripping, high-energy show built around aerial work as much as footwork. The story follows four people trapped in a Kafkaesque realm of incomprehensible rules, observed throughout by a young girl, and uses that setup to work through questions of borders, identity, resilience and human connection. Reviews from earlier stops on the tour describe it as an explosive, emotionally direct piece, as much a comment on immigration policy and the consequences of borders as a dance show in the traditional sense. It is a physically demanding production, mixing trained circus performers with dancers across a range of ages, and Roscommon Arts Centre is one of several Irish venues carrying it in 2026, alongside stops including Glor in Ennis and the Town Hall Theatre in Galway.

Getting there

Roscommon Arts Centre is on Circular Road in Roscommon town, a short walk from the town centre and the train station. Roscommon is served by Iarnrod Eireann’s Dublin-Westport/Galway line, and Bus Eireann routes connect the town to Athlone, Galway and Sligo.
