Gotta Dance - Richhill Dance Studio at Market Place Theatre Armagh

At Market Place Theatre · Market Street, Armagh, Co. Armagh BT61 7BW

Gotta Dance show by Richhill Dance Studio at Market Place Theatre Armagh

Richhill Dance Studio brings their show-stopping annual production back to Armagh’s Market Place Theatre for two nights in July 2026. Gotta Dance is a full-scale stage spectacular that draws on years of hard work from students of all ages - from tiny three-year-olds taking their first steps on a proper stage to senior pupils delivering choreography that holds its own against professional standards. If you have a child in the studio, or if you simply enjoy watching young performers do something remarkable, this is the kind of summer show that earns its standing ovation.

What to expect

The evening runs as a full theatrical production rather than a classroom recital. Richhill Dance Studio is one of the most active dance schools in County Armagh, and Gotta Dance is their annual showcase - a chance for every student year to perform in front of a proper audience in a proper venue. Previous editions have sold out every performance, which is a reliable measure of how much the local community turns out for this one.

You can expect a mix of dance styles, big costumes, and a programme that keeps moving from start to finish. The youngest performers appear early in the show, which means families with small children can arrive and settle in without worrying about a late finish. The older and more advanced students close things out with routines that draw comparisons to West End-level choreography - not marketing copy, but the honest reaction of audiences who come back year after year.

Getting there

Armagh city is roughly 40 minutes south of Belfast on the A3, and about an hour from Dublin via the M1 and A3. The Market Place Theatre sits on Market Street in the city centre, close to the old mall and the main shopping streets. The theatre has its own car park on site, with Blue Badge spaces available. If you are coming by bus, Translink services run into Armagh from Belfast, Dungannon, Newry, and Monaghan - the bus station on Lonsdale Road is a short walk from the venue.

While you’re in Armagh

Armagh is one of the oldest cities on the island - the seat of both Catholic and Church of Ireland archbishops, with two cathedrals on opposite hills and a Georgian mall that has been carefully kept. The Navan Centre just outside the city covers the ancient royal site of Emain Macha, and the city’s own planetarium is one of the few in Ireland. A summer evening show at the Market Place makes for a natural anchor to a wider day out in the area. There is more to see in Armagh and across Co. Armagh.
