What to Expect

The Carrick Camino is a 35km community walk starting from Ballyfarnon, County Roscommon and finishing in Carrick-on-Shannon. Participants embark on a day-long journey celebrating the Camino spiritual walking tradition. The walk combines physical activity, community connection, and the meditative aspects of pilgrimage walking.

Good to Know

The event takes place on Saturday, 29 August 2026, starting at 6am from Ballyfarnon. The walk is 35km in total length, finishing in Carrick-on-Shannon at the Market Yard Centre. Registration is required via Eventbrite. The event is free to participate in. Participants should come prepared with appropriate footwear and hydration for a full day’s walk.

Getting There

The walk begins in Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon, approximately 15km northwest of Carrick-on-Shannon. The finish point is at Market Yard Centre in central Carrick-on-Shannon.
